There are several advantages using IDAL needle-free injection compared to traditional vaccination with needles.
In contrast to traditional vaccination by needle, IDAL provides a needle-free vaccination that is virtually painless1. This provides increased animal welfare.
Disposable needles quickly lose their sharpness, and a used needle therefore requires more force to penetrate the skin, with the risk of injection errors. With the IDAL 3G injector you can easily and safely vaccinate up to 1200 injections per battery charge.
Needles transfer blood and body fluids between pigs with a risk of also transferring infectious agents. IDAL injects the vaccine into the skin without the use of needles and therefore a considerably smaller risk of transferring infectious agents between pigs exists2.
